| Step
1 |
Remove toner cartridge and power plug along with
your connectivity cable. (parallel or network) |
|

| Step
2 |
Remove the accessory
cover located on the right side of the printer you
will have to keep the toner cartridge cover open
in order to do this, start by pressing on the interlock
and sliding the cover forward or toward you while
standing in front of the printer. |

3 |
You will notice the formatter board
is exposed when the cover is off. Be sure not to
damage any of the cables while working around this
area. |

| Step
4 |
Now
turn your hp 2100 or 2200 around so you are facing
the rear of the printer, drop the rear exit cover
and remove the 2 screws located on the upper left
and right corners not the 2 screw in the middle,
these hold the fuser divertor plate, you will notice
that the exit assembly has two positions first position
will only allow you to drop the exit door down so
far, you will have to hold up the door limiter while
you hinge the door down. (See picture) |

Start
at the bottom of the rear cover and gently begin
to dislodge the cover you may have to work it a
little but do not force it, it is only plastic,
You will have to do the same with the top portion
of the rear cover also. |

If
you are planning to replace the fuser you can go
to the fuser removal procedure for more disassembly
information. |

7 |
While
facing the rear of the printer remove the top right
cover screw. |
|

8 |
While
facing the rear of the printer remove the top left
cover screw. |

| Step
9 |
Turn
the printer back so you are facing the front of
the printer, with the toner lid open remove the
two front screws, these screw are located in the
very front top corners of the printer. |

Identify the (drum drive) door hinge
located in the picture you will need a flat blade
screw driver. |

| Step
11 |
Gently
pry and push the plastic lock out of the hinge,
do not worry about the hinge falling inside the
printer carcus, it can rest there until re assembly,
then you will be able to gently remove it and re
attach. |

12 |
On
the same right side as the door hinge lock there
will be a small clip that will need to be depressed
as you remove the cover. |

| Step
13 |
On
the left side of the printer there will also be
a clip that will require you to depress with a flat
blade screw driver when removing the cover. |

14 |
Gently lift the cover
upwards as you do this you may have to release the
left and right clips at the same time (steps 13
and 14) the cover will lift straight up. |

15 |
Now
is a good time to account for your screws and plastics
before continuing to more disassembly procedures. |
